    The old way

    • New businesses choose their first van quickly, often from the first supplier that reaches them
    • Established lists catch trades and delivery companies months after they started trading
    • Generic new-company lists are dominated by sectors that rarely need vehicles
    • Start-up lending is a specialist area, and brokers need prospects who are likely to qualify

    With NewcoSignal

    • Regional filters so you can focus on the area you serve
    • Registered addresses and named directors for a considered letter
    • Alerts that put you in front of the founder while the van is still unchosen

Why new trades and delivery companies matter to van leasing brokers

A new builder, courier, cleaner or tradesperson is usually in the market for a vehicle almost immediately. The van is one of the first major purchases, and it is often decided in the first weeks after the company is formed, before the first customer has paid. A broker who reaches the founder at that point is early. One who writes three months later is competing with a van that has already been chosen.

There is a lending reason this is a specialist niche. Funders do lease to brand-new limited companies, typically asking for a director's guarantee and often an initial rental of six to nine months (Commercial Vehicle Contracts, van lease for a new limited company). That is not the easiest product to arrange, which is why a founder is likely to value a broker who knows which funders will say yes. We do not quote contract values here because they are not independently verified.

Fleet customers also grow. A sole trader who leases a van today may add a second and third as the business expands, and a broker who made the first lease easy is well placed for the next.

What a new company signal means

The signal tells you that a company in a vehicle-dependent line of work, such as construction and building trades, delivery, cleaning and similar services, has just been registered. Each match shows the registration date, the registered address and, where listed, a named director. The information comes from Companies House and other official public records.

The data is for businesses where a van is a likely tool of the trade. You can narrow by region so your letters fit the area you serve.

    What it does not mean

A new company is not necessarily a trading business. Many are set up in advance, and some never trade. It does not mean the founder wants a van, has chosen to lease rather than buy, or has not already sorted one. It also does not tell you whether the company will qualify for finance, because credit decisions depend on information you will gather directly.

Registered addresses can be a formation agent's or an accountant's, not the place where the vans will be kept. Do not assume the address tells you where the business is based.

    How to use it

    • Set an alert. Save a search for new trade and delivery companies in your region and receive them by email as they register.
    • Filter by area. Limit the list to the regions you serve so you can mention local delivery, servicing or support.
    • Reach by post or corporate email. A registered address is always available for a letter. Limited companies can be emailed as corporate subscribers if you identify yourself and offer an opt-out. Sole traders and ordinary partnerships need consent, and calls must be screened against the TPS and CTPS.
    • Lead with start-up lending. Explain that you work with funders who lease to new limited companies, and say plainly what you will need from the director. Named directors are personal data, so keep your approach proportionate and stop if asked.

NewcoSignal does not provide email addresses or phone numbers for new companies. The register holds a registered office and usually a named director, and a short, practical letter is usually the best opening.
